Therefore, this automobile size is average so it is suitable for those consumers that like middle size car. SWOT ANALYSIS One tool marketers use to assess an organisations strengths weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Strengths Strengths define as the competitive advantages or core competencies that given the organization an advantage in meeting the needs of its target markets. Ford automobile company is the one of the best known brand name in the world. Then, the brand is well-known in automobile industry and global markets due to huge marketing and advertising. Ford admits greater amount of customer loyalty and all its individual brands have been enjoying the benefits of the good reputation that they have through the quality makes and services. Ford is providing the consumer more variety of car and commercial vehicle. Some more, quality to ensure of Ford needs to be more complete and must be consistently monitored with permit standard to make certain no future faults and thereby to achieve customer satisfaction. Ford automobile company will maintain good relation with the employees by offering better work environment and competitive wages that are assert to recruits a qualified and skilled employee in all its functions. Otherwise, Ford is more concerned about the working environment and safety aspects of the employees. Furthermore, Ford always develops cars on standardized procedure and invested heavily in alternate fuel source. This manufacturing facilities operating its business more than thirty countries and enhances its manufacturing process at around ninety plants and facilities worldwide that is because operations and distribution efficiency of the Ford automobile company is the wealth. Weaknesses Weaknesses mean any limitations that a company faces in developing or implementing a marketing strategy. Fords automobile company brand image was harmed and the company has a lot of suffered due to products recalls. For example the Ford Focus recalls the car which has some problem. This has made a large cost to the company as well as harm the brand image and make a bad impact to Fords sales. Furthermore, Ford automobile company lack of design phase and innovative design structures on their new paddle of cars. This is because the technology not as well as other it will influence Ford to cause the low productivity. Thus Ford can overcome their weakness to achieve greatest of strengths. Apart of that, management is missing focus on some lines performance because Ford automobile company expands more business operations in diversified geographical areas. Next, Ford does not have an effective cost management system and have not taken considerable efforts to overcome. Ford has a small marke t share therefore the sale will decline the sales and also due to global recession in the world finance market. That is the reason for decline of sales. Another reason is Ford will manufacture the standard cars which are not able to cope up with current market automobile. Opportunities Opportunities know as a favorable condition in the environment that could produce rewards for the organization if acted upon properly. Ford has to expand more option in designing the cars and commercial vehicles are expected to switch toward hybrid electric engines due to the petroleum. Hence, Ford can build the car that run on electricity that form of energy outside the petrol and diesel and to promote pass through to the future opportunities that will be increasing. Ford has a chance to become more environment friendly company with cleaner engine emissions because hybrid engines are more fuel efficient less pollute than conventional gasoline and diesel engines. Ford has a great opportunity to produce fuel efficient cars and commercial vehicles. On the other way, Ford has one more option in designing the cars and commercial vehicle based on electric engine. The Ford automobile industry is having one more fuel efficient types whereas cars can run on renewable energies like solar powe r and bio fuels. This can help the company to become pioneers in the industry. The Fords car is providing the facilities based on the travel habits of the whole family. By the other way, the Ford car also is medium cost car which can be giving affordable by the medium class people. Threats Threats are the meaning for a conditions or barriers that may prevent the organization from reaching its objectives. The cost of petroleum is rising day by day and remains to be in the state of uncertainly so that electric drive vehicle that is the reason will be in high demand. On the other hand, the Ford growth and development may effect by high-speed growth in amount of competitors in this automobile industry. The main competitors of Ford are Nissan, Honda, Toyota, and so on. They have also threatened Fords market share. Besides this, Fords capital spending is indeed lower than the competitor. The reason is this capital spending has included the research development expenditure which could influence the company from going ahead. If other automobile manufacturers have new ideas, program and new technology appear, that is also one of the threats to Ford Company. Therefore the economy depression also will influence the consumer ability of buying. Thus, the amount of sales will declin e. ENVIRONMENTAL FORCE Competitors FORD view environmental forces as uncontrollable and maintain passive and reactive to the environment. In the automobile market, FORD is facing many competitors like TOYOTA, HONDA and NISSAN. Competitors are affecting the FORD Company by reducing the sales rate. Flexible manufacturing capabilities allow us to bring products to market with greater speed and efficiency than ever before. The marketers define the FORD companies as an oligopoly competition in the market structure because in the market there are many substitutes available but only one company offerings for another. Political Forces FORD, along with other major automakers and the United Auto Workers (UAW), opposed a congressional bill to raise the average fuel economy standards to 35 miles per gallon by 2013. The organization believe that this would harm the SUV, pickup, and minivan industry. Political factors it may also influence the strategic planning of Ford Motor since government rules and regulations are concerned with the production of more eco-friendly automobiles in the daily function of the company. Due to the environmental concerns, the industry has to abide with the regulations aimed for reducing the pollution levels. In the other hand, non-compliance attracts heavy fines, which prove costly to the company. Not only that this regulations may also drive Ford to manufacture environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient cars to save the environment. In this situation, governments in a bid to lower the unemployment rate discourage Ford Motors from fully automating its operation, which would otherwise take up local jobs. Economic force As vehicle industry provide luxury product and services, the economy well being plays an important role in determining the demand for vehicle. During the economic prosperity, since there is significant increase purchasing power in people, usually they are willing to spend on purchase on new vehicle. Marketer often expands their product during in this economic stage. However, when there is happening recession it will cause a high unemployment rate in economy. People will start to spend less on luxury product such as vehicle or house. In this stage, people only will purchase the product that are necessary or might choose to buy second hand vehicle only. DISTRIBUTION STRATEGIES Distribution strategies are (Kurtz, 2010, p46) to ensure that consumers find their products in the proper quantities at the right times and places. Marketing Channel Distribution For the marketing channel selection, Ford Motor Company uses this channel as follow: Producer à ¯Ã†â€™Ã‚ ¨ Dealers à ¯Ã†â€™Ã‚ ¨ Consumers Vehicles that are manufactured at Ford factories are distributed to dealers through road or train transportation. Consumers can buy the cars directly at the dealers show room. Intensity of Market Coverage There are 3 types of intensity of market coverage, which are intensive distribution, selective distribution and exclusive distribution. Pride and Ferrell (2010, p400) state that intensive distribution uses all available outlets for distributing a product. Selective distribution uses only some available outlets in an area to distribute a product. Ford use exclusive distribution which is use only one outlet in a relatively large geographic. Exclusive distribution is suitable for products purchased infrequently, consumed over a long period of time, or required service or information to fit them to buyers needs. Ford Fiesta is a luxury automobile and only available in a select dealers show room. Supply Chain Management Supply chain management (Pride Ferrell, 2010, p388) is a set of approaches used to integrate the functions of operations management, logistics management, supply management and marketing channel management so products are produced and distributed, in the right quantities to the right locations and at the right time. Ford Motor Company has its own manufacturer to produce vehicle parts and combine it into a car. The Ford car will be sent through road transportation and train transportation to the dealer. Channel Management Issues Now Ford can sell the product through online. However, consumer cannot do the test drive through website. So, it is a weakness of online selling the car. PRICING STRATEGIES All of the element in the marketing mix, price is the only one to generates revenue. The other elements generate only cost. The profitability of a company is determined by the price and the competition in the market contributes the maximum to the important of pricing. Ford has implemented their own pricing strategies which is more demand or market based pricing oriented. Ford has use new strategies call Blue Tag, is expending from its large car to the small car range. The price reductions are between 6%-15% on the Ford Fiesta. Price objectives and basis The price objectives are the goals which are described the organization to achieve which through pricing effort. The pricing objectives are included marketing objectives and marketing mix strategies. Pricing basis is the initial price of a good and it is without any extra charges. The will be increase when the more specification of the car, the more the price basis of Ford product. The marketing objectives have included marketing position, survival, current profit maximization, market share leadership, and product quality leadership. Then, marketing mix strategies is target costing, non-price position, cost, and organizational considerations. New product pricing strategies Setting the base price for a new product is a necessary part of formulating a marketing strategy and is one of the most fundamental decisions in the marketing mix. The Ford Motor Company is setting two types of price which is price skimming and penetration pricing in the market industry. Price skimming is about the high possible price that people afford to pay for the product and penetration pricing is to competing brands and gain a significant market shares. For example, Ford Fiesta is committed for consumers safety like airbag, including our efforts to deliver top crash test ratings that customers look to when choosing new vehicle. So the company set a reasonable price for this model toward consumer. Promotional pricing strategies Price, as an ingredient in the marketing mix, is often coordinated with promotion. The two variables sometimes are so interrelated the pricing policy is promotion-oriented. The Ford automobile company makes promotion for the latest model Fiesta. For example, Ford promote like cash rebate for sale to attract more customers. Beside this, consumers will have a chance to get an iPhone4 and iPod as a reward when the consumers purchase this model automobile. By using this kind of promotion, it has been able to sell this model more than other competitors. Pricing issues Ford automobile may face many pricing issues like the price of materials that used to produce the cars. If the materials price is rising, it will lower the profit for the companies. On the other hand, the demand in market industry it also affects the price, if the demand for Ford Fiesta is high therefore price will increase. CONCLUSION Limitation The Ford product is expensive and only available for higher income people. The design of car is not beautiful compare to other competitor car. Recommendation Ford Motor Company can produce the car which is suitable for average income and lower income people. Ford Motor Company can try to create new design for the new car and try to post it online to let consumer vote. Conclusion Ford product have few target markets and we have do some research of how Ford Motor Company use SWOT analysis to sell their product. We also know how Ford Motor Company uses 4 elements of marketing mix to sell the product to the customer.

Brand Loyalty Through Emotional Advertising Media Essay

Brand Loyalty Through Emotional Advertising Media Essay Many authors have discussed about what is emotional advertising and its importance over rational advertising but very little work has been done on building brand loyalty through emotional advertising. In this paper I will give a theoretical based view of how we can generate brand loyalty through emotional advertising. Plus what are the drivers of emotional appeal and how to achieve emotional satisfaction through advertising and its experience. Keywords: Emotional advertising, brand loyalty, drivers of emotional appeal, emotional satisfaction and experience Introduction McGuire (1969) argues that there is no difference between emotional appeals and rational appeals in terms of the effectiveness or emotional appeals are more effective. Holbrook and Hirschman (1982) suggested that emotional appeals come from the emotional, experiential side of consumption. Choi and Thorson (1983) found that emotional ads were better than rational ads by most recall measures. Emotional appeals make a brand liked or friendly (Batra and Ray 1985). Where, Kotler and Armstrong (1991, 426-427) define emotional appeal as an: attempt to stir up either negative or positive emotions that can motivate purchase. These include fear, guilt, surprise and shame appeals that get people to do things they should or stop doing things they shouldnt. Communicators also use positive emotional appeals such as love, humor, pride, hope and joy. An appeal, according to Manrai et al. (1992), is the basic idea behind an advertisement or the basic reason why an audience should act. Emotional appeals are often strategically employed to influence consumers indirectly and make the consumer feel good about the product (Calder and Gruder 1989) relying on feelings for effectiveness (Aaker et al 1992). When it comes to changing the message receivers beliefs about the advertised brand (Stafford 1993), Emotional appeal ads may have rational appeal components while rational appeal ads can have emotional appeal component respectively. Stafford (1993) suggests that both types of meanings occur in all ads and only case by case does the balance vary. However, Aaker, Stayman and Hagerty (1986) found a positive relationship between the level of warmth created by a commercial and the attitude toward the ad Page, Goldberg and Gorn (1987) also reported more positive reactions for emotional appeal advertisements than for informational appeal advertisements. Thorson and Heide (1990) also found that emotional advertisements may be more effective and memorable than rational advertisements. One of the most critical concerns advertisers express about television advertising is the potential decline of the persuasive impact on TV spots because of increasing clutters in the media environment. To make advertising appeals more distinctive and hence, perhaps more persuasive, advertisers frequently use dramatic emotional ads messages designed to shock the emotions and make the brain itch (Moore 1989) Such advertising executions often feature high impact, sensually evocative appeals that stimulate strong positive emotions (e.g., the Hallmark greeting card ads dramatizing precious moments and nostalgic memories in life). However, advertisers also employ graphic and sensational negative emotional advertising messages such as those used by insurance companies, healthcare institutions, drug and alcohol abuse clinics, food manufacturers exploiting consumers fears of cancer and cardiac diseases (Alsop 1988), and public service agencies making appeals to prevent child abuse or to promote the use of contraceptive devices (LaTour and Pitts 1989). I have gone through the definitions of emotional advertising from different authors given in different times. Their thoughts and findings are similar somewhat but also vary as the time changes, from these definitions we can get a clear view about emotional advertising and to some extend its importance. Emotional advertising leave a deeper effect and can persuade viewers immensely, but can emotional advertising also develop band loyalty? Very less work is being done from this perspective. I will talk about brand loyalty through emotional advertising and what are the drivers of emotional advertising. Emotional Advertising The human spirit is a rich reservoir of powerful emotions; Passion, ambition, vanity, love, desire, fear, hope and much, much more. Emotional advertising arouses these emotions to get our attention, to touch us more deeply and to persuade us more effectively. Emotional advertising discovers how a product truly fits into a persons life and how it satisfies an emotional need. When that truth is revealed and understood, it becomes possible to create a more honest, relevant and lasting relationship between the consumer and the product. Ideas and the executions that are conceived and created to awaken, stir and stimulate emotional responses produce advertising that is new, unexpected and audacious, advertising that is most persuasive and provides the greatest return on investment. Emotional Advertising drivers Emotions matter because if we do not have them, nothing else would matter (Elster 1999) To make an ad impactful one should be very careful while choosing the drivers because these drivers are the soul of the ad, only wisely chosen drivers can make an ad generate brand loyalty through its experience. In my opinion the basic drivers of emotional appeal are given as under: Figure shows Drivers of Emotional Appeal Brand Loyalty through Emotional Advertising Basic purpose of emotional advertising is to engage more and more viewers into the ad and ultimately influence them to buy the product. As we know that marketings basic function is to target the need of people while emotional appeal aim the hidden feelings behind that need, and then eventually through this we can create brand loyalty. Figure 2 shows brand loyalty through emotional advertising Emotional Satisfaction through Advertising and Experience Future belongs to emotional advertisement. Most of the advertisers try to find out those minor points which were never taken out before, they seek to create something new which is not new and they try to explore that side of emotions that have yet not being tested. The best strategy is to blend emotional appeal with rationale appeal, but in this more percentage is of emotional appeal and less is of rationale appeal. As we have discussed earlier that emotional appeal is to target the hidden emotion of the viewer and then relate it with the advertised product. Emotion is very important is advertising, here we take an example of Dove. When dove started is Campaign for Real Beauty theme is 2004. Prior to this time, the brand communicated largely rationale benefits, such as its moisturizing properties and mildness. It mainly used testimonial-style advertising, but, with little sense of uniqueness, vibrant or conceiving personality, its growth was limited. The Campaign Real Beauty aimed to build the brand at an emotional level by conveying a more self-governing, independent, natural and iconic vision of beauty. In doing so, Dove made women who were tired of trying to live up to the idealized and unachievable standards shown by other brands. Almost overnight, Dove changed from being dull and inactive into a highly distinctive and admired brand with a resulting huge uplift in sales across its entire range and finally it paid off in the shape of growth of its brand loyalty. The Fictional Character Cleopatra Essays -- Cleopatra Shakespeare Play

The Fictional Character Cleopatra The fictional character of Cleopatra has captured the imaginations of people the world over. Helen of Troy was said to have had ‘the face that launched a thousand ships.’ Cleopatra was not simply a beautiful and passive face, but indeed commanded navies as well as the heart of the powerful Mark Antony. Looking at these two facts from the play one may see the political brilliance in her affections, but also the dichotomy. Which one of her loves is true, and which is of an illusory nature? There is a constant battle between her passion towards the mighty Roman and her yearning for sovereignty and the glory of Egypt on her own terms. This question certainly embroils the mind of Mark Antony, at least. All of this however, only adds to her enigmatic depth of character and mystique. Cleopatra, despite being cunning and even manipulative can be defined as one of literature’s great lovers. She was a lover of men and a lover of her country. A figure more driven in these categories would be hard to find. Yet parallels can be drawn with Queen Elizabeth I of England. Both were ardent, patriotic leaders descended from powerful rulers (in the case of Elizabeth, Henry VIII, and in Cleopatra’s instance the Ptolemeic dynasty). Wielding great authority themselves, Cleopatra also used her charms as a courtesan to bend the wills of her political peers. Elizabeth used her unmarried status to manage numerous suitors to her political advantage. Their intelligence is another common trait. â€Å"Elizabeth’s linguistic ability is well attested, not only by her tutor Ascham, but by visitors to the English court who speak of precisely this facility in replying to ambassadors either i... ...e. This simple carpenter preached transcendence and many believe he save the world by the surrender of his life. Cleopatra found release through surrendering as well. She broke the conflicting chains of passion, governance, and the other illusions of reality by surrendering her life. Bibliography Boyce, Charles. Shakespeare A to Z. Customer Relationship Management Essay -- Software Technology CRM Essa

Customer Relationship Management A relative of mine works for a corporate firm on CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software. He told me that their company is doing well with their CRM initiative while most of the other companies, using different software, are not achieving their goal of customer satisfaction. That gave me a big click of interest towards my research topic and I came up with a research questions as â€Å"How to avoid CRM failure?† and how to choose a best CRM software vendor? Customer Relationship Management is an interactive process for achieving the optimum balance between corporate investments and the satisfaction of customer needs to generate the maximum profit. CRM refers to management of all interactions with customers in which the enterprise indulges. Its main focus is on managing and optimizing entire customer lifecycle. The customer lifecycle revolves around marketing, sales and customer service. According to Jill Dyche (2002), CRM promises to help companies get to know their customers well enough to understand which ones to keep and which ones they should be willing to lose and why -and how not to overspend in the meantime. CRM also means automating many of the business processes and accompanying analysis and saving precious time in the bargain. Today’s companies are interacting with consumers at unprecedented levels and across different channels, such as E-mail, text chat, and multi-functional call centers. Marketing, sales and customer service are commonplace for CRM, so it is essential to acquire new customers and retain those who have high value, since customers have real value to the company’s success. And companies are pouring millions of dollars into customer relationship management, but most initiatives fail to deliver customer needs, so it is essential to have a proper analysis of CRM before choosing a particular vendor. The objective of good CRM is to increase the customer base by acquiring new customers and effectively serving the needs of existing customers. â€Å"The U.S. business-to-consumer e-commerce market is forecast to grow from $41.7 billion this year to $163 billion in 2004, and companies are realizing that customer relationship management will be a key driver of this growth, says Robert DeSisto, a VP with corporate consultant Gartner Group† (Jusko, 2001, p.12). My Dreams and Ambitions Essay

I was raised in a small town called Joao Pessoa by my grandmother .The town was very small that everyone knew their neighbors and the town. At this time as was single and living in Brazil. We had a very nice house, which I had my own room and I loved it. I had everything in my room. But was a especial place that I like about my room, It was where I keep all of my favorite things, my craft supplies, favorite CD’s, books, magazines, cameras, photos, and my diary. A place to escape when my house was a little crazy and noise. I used to love stay on my room writing on my diary for hours, every day before go to bed, I used to sat down on my desk and writing about my life. I always think about the future. My grandmother was old, almost 65, and I was always worrying what will happen to me after she dies. I grew up with opportunities for intellectual and spiritual growth, secure in the knowledge that I was loved by her. But not from my parents who gave me away. When I was 16, my life changed dramatically in the fall of my sophomore year of high school. My beloved grandmother was dying of cancer. I was forced my view of the world and my sense of responsibility to take a dramatic turn. Each morning before school I went to the hospital where she received chemotherapy to treat the cancer that was destroying her body. After school finished, I went back to the hospital to speed the rest of afternoon with her. Many times I eat at the hospital just to spend more time with her. Because I knew that after she dies everything will change in my life. In the fall of the same year she dies. I was very depressed about my life. I knew that I need to move on, but didn’t know how. Years passed, and I was finished high school. In 1998 was accepted into the nurse school, and the same time studying to be an elementary school teacher. In 2000, after graduate as a teacher, my aunt invited me to come to United of States. That happen 6 months after found the love of my life. I was undecided, but I ended up accepting my aunt offer and postpone my love history and my career as nurse. I came to Orlando in 2000 and sign up to English school. Since already decided to leave, I had to learn the language. I remember like today, I was feeling lost, since I didn’t had any friends or family here. But, I came with a purpose, to learn the language and make my life here. One year after living here, I break up with my boyfriend in  Brazil. I was not sure any more about going back to my country. I want to try the whole long distance thing but he doesn’t, so we ended up finishing our relationship. My actual husband, I met at school. Close to the apartment that I used to leave, there was a high school, and I decide to go there to get more information about the English classes. When I arrived to school, there were a lot of people waiting to enroll for the classes. I sign in and wait until somebody calls me. After few minutes the lady called my name and asked me for some documentation that was required to enroll. My purse was so crowded with a lot of papers and credit cards inside, that when I opened, I dropped all my cards on the floor, and then a guy came to help me. I thank you him for the help and I went to the registration desk. After I finish with all paper work, he follows me through the exit door and ask if he can see me another day. I guess he liked me. Then he offers to take me home since I didn’t have transportation. I didn’t want to accept. But I felt I could trust on him. Time passed and we went out many times. On the beginning I didn’t like him, but he always surprises me. A month later, we stared dating, and after two years we got married. My family is warm and loving. There’s me, my husband, and my son. I am thirty two years old. My husband Jorge is forty two, and the 9 year-old Kevin Gabriel is our only child. . We’ve been married for nine years. My husband is a Dentist on his country, but here in the United States, he was not able yet to take his license, so he works for a hotel as Supervisor. My son Kevin Gabriel is the best son in the world. He is very calm, is carrying about his family. He loves to go school and paint. When he has a free time he drawn his family on the peace of paper and stick on his bedroom wall. He is always telling me how much he loves our family. I am a woman who loves enjoy the life each day, and speed time going to the church every Sunday with my son. Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t like to attend to church with me because his is Catholic and I’m Christian. I believe one day he will change. He always said that his is Catholic, but never attend to the service on church. I think is just one more excuse to not go. I work for a very successful company on hospitality industry â€Å"Marriott†. I like my job, but I’m not planning in staying there the rest of my life. My dream is became a plastic surgeon, maybe one day my dream came true. I  believed that dreams are the most amazing things in life, we all love to dream and we all love to hope and to see ourselves getting better and achieving more each day. That was the reason I decided to go back to college and finish my career. Everyone dreams of being something and tries to achieve their goals; everyone has their own resolutions and has something to look up to and reach. For me, I would like to achieve many things during my life such as: entering in to a high respected university to study medicine. Also, have my own house at the beach for my family. For some people, money is the first thing, and most of the times the only thing that measures success in their life, but that is not my case. Money can buy power, fame, time, and much more. But there is one thing that money could not buy is happiness. My dream is to become a good plastic surgeon and day after day it has transformed into an ambition which I want to move towards. I do not want to be famous, but just good enough to have my own clinic and work for a very successful hospital. Many people think that becoming a doctor is difficult, and I know that takes many years of preparation, but anyone can achieve if they have determination. Also, I would like to help people that have dreams to do a plastic surgery, but doesn’t have the money. I am interested in this career because I like to help people. Even though studying and working at the same time are very hard, it pays off in the end, when someone makes a difference in someone’s life. I think it is really great to dream and to live my life trying to reach my hopes. I always try to set my goals and work as hard as I can to reach them. Another ambition of mine is someday to have my own house on one of the beaches in Hawaii. The color of the house will be white and it will be surrounded by a large garden with a few trees. Every morning I will go outside and breathe the wonderful breeze, which carries the smell of the sea. It may not seem like an ambition as much as it seems like a dream, but I would really like to live in such a place and I am willing to do everything to make it come true. To conclude, I believe with determination and commitment I will climb  up the ladder of life and with practice I will avoid slipping, however, drawing a plan in my mind has helped me achieve a lot and will still do so. I always convince myself to never give up and I strive to look forward to what person I would become if I achieve my goals. I hope one day my dreams will came true.
